Getting Started
This guide was created to give SRSU students, faculty, and staff insight into the collection development process at SRSU Library and Archives of the Big Bend.
Annually, librarians review existing subscriptions and their usage to identify titles for cancelation to meet budget targets.
Current goals include:
- maintaining strong support for teaching, learning, and research across all disciplines
- planning for future growth in academic programs
- reducing format overlap and favoring online content while maintaining a dynamic physical collection for our region and service areas
- reducing low-use subscriptions by better connecting and communicating with departmental representatives
