Tips to Reduce Textbook Costs
There are a few tricks to reducing the cost of textbooks.
- Check with the Library to see if your course readings are in the Textbook Collection.
- Use InterLibrary Loan as an option to get articles and chapters from other libraries.
- Rent instead of buy.
- Buy used.
- Buy the book from another student who has taken the class before. (Check the Brewster County Exchange on Facebook, or other social media groups.)
- Check with your professor if it’s okay to use an earlier edition.
- Sell your old textbooks to fund your new books.
NOTE: Some textbooks come with a digital access code that you need to access quizzes, tests, and assignments. If your class requires this code, you will probably need to buy a new textbook.
