What are eBooks?
eBooks are books in digital format. If you think about a book as a physical container filled with content, you can consider that an eBook is the content without the container -- or, that the container is a digital device of your choosing: a computer, a mobile device, or a specified eReader like a Kindle.
eBooks enable some great versatility:
- read online,
- search within the text,
- highlight and take notes and/or bookmark pages in your online copy,
- easily share research with others
- download eBooks and chapters to a laptop or mobile device
eBooks can be found as part of library collections as well as on the web for free in places like Project Gutenberg and the Internet Archive and for purchase from various retailers.
The SRSU Library provides access to hundreds of thousands of eBooks in a variety of subject areas and in several languages.
